Behind the Scenes: Filming KAKAY Documentary

Our latest documentary KAKAY explores the ancient Kakai community of northern Iraq. Filming this project required months of preparation, building trust with community leaders, and gaining unprecedented access to sacred ceremonies rarely seen by outsiders. The production team spent three months embedded with Kakai families, documenting daily life, spiritual practices, and the challenges of preserving a millennia-old faith tradition in modern Iraq. The documentary features interviews with community elders, rare footage of ceremonial rituals, and stunning landscape photography of the Kurdistan region.
